I’m a school-trained gunsmith and graduate of the Colorado School of Trades’ Gunsmithing Program. After attending high school in Scotland I joined the US Marine Corps Reserve and served with B Co, 4th Tank Batallion in Yakima, Wa. While in the reserves and attending university I was introduced to NRA Highpower Rifle competition and found the first love of my life. I had the honor of joining the USMCR Rifle Team after my second deployment. 

After years of working in the mining industry and military service, I headed south with my wife to attend the gunsmithing school for the next 14 months. While there, I was able to work on real customer firearms which came into the school and bring the experiences and lessons learned into my business, Black Dog Gunsmithing LLC. 

When I’m not at the shop you can probably find me practicing Olympic Weightlifting or cooking up a storm. I’ve somehow been married for 10 years.
